Barber Martin Agency was founded in 1989 with two employees and one retail client. Today, we’re 26 strong with a diversified retail client roster ranging from luxury single-store boutiques to 1,000+ value-driven chains.

Over the years, we’ve listened to hundreds of focus groups and studied millions of retail shoppers. This experience gives us instant access to what often takes others years to learn – how to best connect with your consumers.

Bob Barber, Founding Partner/OwnerIn his 30-year advertising career, Bob has fielded a position in almost every part of the business – from ad manager on the client side to manager of a chain of weekly newspapers, to account supervisor on the agency side. His integrity and no-nonsense, get-to-the-heart-of-it philosophy results in client relationships grounded in trust, which in turn allows for the smooth, efficient operation of every account.

Bill Martin, Founding Partner/OwnerA writer by trade, Bill is something of a local celebrity. He’s garnered many Clio, Addy, One Show, Radio Mercury and Richmond Show awards while creating a culture of trust and creative excellence. Bill’s stamp on the agency and on the business has been to demand the best in concept and execution of creative, proper stewardship of the clients’ production dollars and inspiration of a team culture built around results.
